Mike is a Principal in our Tax Department, and leads our Tax Committee responsible for tax research and training and supervision of all tax interns. He provides a full array of services to both individuals and closely held businesses. Mike provides financial statement review and compilation services to businesses, as well as tax preparation and compliance, tax planning, and representation before the IRS. He also has significant experience and expertise in the areas of state taxes, sales and use taxes, and Nexus issues.
A significant amount of Mike’s time is spent assisting individuals with their tax preparation and compliance, tax planning, and estate planning needs. Other services he provides to individuals include preparation of personal financial statements and retirement cash flow projections.
Mike joined KSS in 1983 and became a Principal in 1993. He is a graduate of Calvin College and received his MBA from Grand Valley State University. Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
